Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Errors after Android Lollipop 5.0.1 update - Solution

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 smartphones obtained the new Android lollipop 5.0.1 firmware update. Since this update is a major release of this firmware, it is possible that problems with your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 occur after the update. This is normal, because on the one hand the old Android system is not completely overwritten or deleted, and on the other hand the Runtime is changed from "Dalvik" to "ART".

If any of your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 errors also occur after updating to Android lollipop, then we recommend you the following solution:

Perform a so-called "Wipe cache partition". This clears the cache of your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and should correct most of the errors. The good thing about the Wipe cache is, that no data such as images, text messages, contacts, etc. are deleted. However, one must be careful with the following instructions to not select the wrong entry. Therefore, a recommendation from us: Always backup your data before performing an action such as a wipe cache partition (for example with Samsung Kies).

Proceed as follows for the Wipe cache partition on your Samsung Galaxy Note 4:

Switch off your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 completely by hitting the Power On/ Off long time. Wait until your smartphone is turned off completly. Now you have to press the following keys to turn on the phone again:

• Power On / Off
• Volume + (louder)
• Home button

When the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vibrates once, release the power on/ off button, but keep the other two keys from the key combination pressed until a small menu, similar to DOS, appears on the display.

Now mark the entry "Wipe cache partition" with the volume down key. With the power on/ off button the entry can be selected and the process started. This usually takes only a few seconds. Then the previously displayed menu appears again . Now select the first entry with "Reboot system now" and run the command again with a press of the power button. Your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will now reboot.

On your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with Android Lollipop less error than it was previously the case should appear. If this does not help, you need it to perform a factory reset on your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to reinstall Android Lollipop from scratch.

You know now how to perform a wipe cache partition at your Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which usually fixes a lot of problems after updating to Android Lollipop 5.0 .
