Samsung Galaxy S5 How to unlock and activate the developer options in Android

In the developer options you can for example enable the USB debugging mode, and apply many other technical software features. On the Samsung Galaxy S5, the developers options are not automatically enabled in the Android OS. So if you want to use the developer options on the Samsung Galaxy S5, you must activate them first. We show you in this guide how to unlock and activate the developer options in Android KitKat on you Samsung Galaxy S5

Opens the menu from your home screen and then select the settings. In the settings scroll down until the menu item "About device" is displayed. Tap on this and you will be forwarded to the next submenu. In this you will find a dark colored entry with "Build number". In order to enable the Developer options on the Samsung Galaxy S5, you must quickly repeatedly tap on it. If you are fast enough with the Tap settlement, it will be displayed in a bar, that the developer mode on your Samsung Galaxy S5 was activated.

The unlocked developer mode can now be found in the settings beside "About device".

I had to hit "Build number" 4-5 times, each time it reported "You are X steps from becoming a developer"

Thank you for this great tip! I was having trouble with Windows 10 recognizing my phone and tablet, turning on developer options and adding USB Debugging did the trick!
