The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus have implemented a preview function for lockscreen notifications. In this way, you can quickly and easily see at a glance what kind of notification you are dealing with and what it is all about.
The phone does not need to be unlocked. This feature usually makes it easier for users to quickly take note of incoming messages when they are busy or on the move.
Some users, however, don't like this feature because it may give you an insight into privacy. Especially if the phone is left on a table and you get a message. Then it is possible for everyone to read this message on the lock screen.
Fortunately, you can disable the message preview feature on the Samsung Galaxy S9.
The exact procedure is described in detail here:
Samsung Galaxy S9 Lockscreen - Disable preview of notifications
- Start from the home screen of the S9 and now open the App menu and continue with the settings.
- Scroll down and select "Device Security" from the drop-down menu and select "Notifications" - the following options are now available:
- Hide content
- Notification icons
Set the setting to suit your best. You can also select which apps to display on the Samsung Galaxy S9 lockscreen. If you do not want to see any more notifications on the lock screen, set the master control to "Inactive". Ready!
