Samsung Galaxy S9 Sort and display contacts by last name

If you use the Samsung Galaxy S9 as a business smartphone, it is usually more important to have the contacts stored in the contacts app sorted by last name instead of first name.

To do this, you have to change the sort order. We have summarized for you here exactly how this works:

Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus Sort and display contacts by last name

  1. Open the contacts app on the Samsung Galaxy S9
  2. Tap on the three items in the upper right corner and select "Settings" from the context menu
  3. First select "Sort by" and set the option to "Last Name"
  4. Then select "Last Name Format" and then press "Last Name, First Name".

You now know how to customize the Contacts app on Samsung Galaxy S9 to sort and display contacts by last name.

I followed the instructions, and my contacts are sorted by last names, BUT only within the contacts app. If I want to send a message (SMS) or initiate a call via viber the contacts are still sorted by first names. Is there a method that changes...

Is there a method that changes the sorting method in all apps (messages, viber, etc)?
