Huawei P20 Pro How to deactivate automatic covers on lock screen - Solved

On the Huawei P20 Pro there is an option that automatically changes the background lock screen when the device switches to standby mode. This means you'll see a new wallpaper or cover on the lock screen every time you turn on the phone screen.

If you do not want to use this feature, you can deactivate this option in the Android settings as follows:

Update Huawei P20 Pro Cover for the lock screen

  1. On the Huawei P20 Pro, open the Android settings
  2. Scroll down to "Security and Privacy" in the menu and select the following entry:

Here you will find the option "Update cover" - Deactivate this function with the controller - Done!

The background image on the Huawei P20 Pro lock screen no longer changes automatically.

With all these settings, every time I try to unlock the phone I still get those annoying random photos with nature and stuff. Started happening after one of the February updates. None of the solutions described online, including this one seem to work to disable that unwanted feature. Some people just like a black screen. Huawei doesn't seem to understand that.

I am trying to turn this feature back on, but can't find it. After "Security and Privacy" the article does not say where to go next. Has this been removed from Android 9 somehow? I still had the feature working after I updated, but today was trying to help a friend update his wallpaper, ended up changing mine and can't change it back. Help!

On the lock screen, you can swipe up from the bottom left to get another menu tray. I was completely unaware of this tray. The leftmost button in this tray is a lock, which toggles the randomized wallpapers.

Tim, if you ever see this, thanks a bunch!
