Samsung Galaxy S5 problems after Android Lollipop 5.0 Update – Tips

Android Lollipop 5.0 firmware will be available soon for the Samsung Galaxy S5. Because this update is a larger version jump, it may happen that after the update problems occur in your Samsung Galaxy S5. This is normal, because on the one hand the old operating system is not completely overwritten and Android Lollipop has also changed to the new Runtime "ART".
If you have also problems with your Samsung Galaxy S5 after updating to Android lollipop, then we recommend you the following advice:

Perform a so-called "Wipe cache partition". This clears the cache of your Samsung Galaxy S5 and should fix most problems. The good thing about the Wipe cache is that no files are deleted. However, one must be careful in following instructions to not select the wrong entry. Therefore, a recommendation: Always backup your data before such actions (for example with Samsung Kies).
And now we tell you how to make a “Wipe cache Partition” with your Samsung Galaxy S5:

Power off your Samsung Galaxy S5 by long pressing the Power On/ Off button. Wait until the device is completely shut down. Now you have to press the following keys at the same time to turn on the phone again:

• Power On / Off
• Volume up
• Home button

If the Samsung Galaxy S5 vibrates once, release the power on/ off button, but keep the other two keys from the key combination pressed until a menu appears on the display.
Now mark the entry "Wipe cache partition" with the volume down key. With the power on / off button, the entry can be selected and the process will start.
This usually takes only a few seconds. Then the previously displayed menu appears again. Now select the first entry "Reboot system now" and run the command again with pressing the power button. Your Samsung Galaxy S5 will now reboot.

Your Samsung Galaxy S5 with Android 5.0 Lollipop should now have fewer problems than it was previously the case. If this does not help, you need to do a factory reset on your Samsung Galaxy S5 to perform an Android lollipop reinstall from scratch. A factory reset you can perform the following instructions:

You know now how to perform on the Samsung Galaxy S5 the Wipe cache partition, a process that usually fixes much of the problems after updating to Android Lollipop.

I am having a problem with my sound With the last Samsung S5 upgrade. Each night it goes into a "Priority Sound" mode. If I forget to turn this off in the morning, it stays in this SILENT mode and I miss all calls. I do NOT want this Priority mode. Is there a way to disable it? All I want is what where there before, SOUND, VIBRATE and MUTE. Any help would be appreciated.

Why does my notification light no longer work? I keep my phone on silent at work and that's how I know I have a notification. Please fix this.

I thought I was the only one having problem. Cant set my alarm while my phone is silenced. Cant charge my phone with other chargers now. Cant adjust notification volume without going through the whole menu. This update sucks,

The alarm NEEDS to be able to be heard when the rest of the phone is on silent! I don't want to be woken up to text messages and emails overnight, but I use the phone as my primary alarm clock! I also don't like that the notification light...

Since update: 1. battery life is TERRIBLE! 2. when phone is in lock screen and mails/messages/whatsapps are received, it shows only the application icon and is written "content hidden" it doesn't show who is the sender or the subject... you have to enter the application to find out, to enter the applications from lock screen takes longer than before. If I would have known that it was going to affect so much I wouldn't have upgraded at all! terrible!
