Samsung Galaxy S5 Android Lollipop 5.0 very slow after update – Solution

If you have updated your Samsung Galaxy S5 on the new Android lollipop 5.0, then it may happen that it is a lot slower than the old operating system. The reason is usually due to the update process itself. Since Android lollipop 5.0 is a "major update" performance problems are almost inevitable. You can do remedy with the two methods here.

A safe method is to perform a factory reset. Thus, the entire system will be deleted and then reinstalled. However, since this means a lot of work for you, we would like to present you a less time-expensive method, which can work very well.

This is the so called "wipe cache partition". We recommend this method to you in any case after an update to Android lollipop 5.0 on your Samsung Galaxy S5. No data will be lost and your system will then run faster and smoother again.
The Wipe cache partition for your Samsung Galaxy S5 works as follows:
Switch off your Samsung Galaxy S5 by long pressing the Power On/ Off button. Wait until the device is turned off completly. Now you have to press the following keys to start the phone again:

• Power On / Off
• Volume up
• Home button

If the Samsung Galaxy S5 vibrates once, the release the power on/ off button, but keep the other two keys from the key combination pressed until a menu appears on the display.
Now mark the entry "Wipe cache partition" with the volume down key. With the power on / off button, the entry is marked and the process is started. This usually takes only a few seconds. Then the previously displayed menu appears again. Now select the first entry with "Reboot system now" and run the command again with a press of the power button.Your Samsung Galaxy S5 will now reboot.

You have now successfully performed a wipe cache on your Samsung Galaxy S5. Your phone should now run faster and make fewer problems with Android Lollipop 5.0. If not, then you have to perform a factory reset on your Samsung Galaxy S5.
