Samsung Galaxy S5 Change Mobile data period cycle

The Samsung Galaxy S5 offers the option under "data usage" to monitor data usage of mobile data. So you can always check which app has consumed much data volume of your mobile internet traffic. This function is especially useful if you have a carrier-contract with a limited amount of data. However it is most of the time fact that your contract usually does not run from the first day of a month, but somewhere in the middle.

No problem, you can even change the data usage cycle. Now, however, the following problem can occur:

The mobile data cycle cannot be changed on your Samsung Galaxy S5. If you have this problem, then we would like to show you a trick on how to change the cycle of the mobile data consumption in Android. The function has been implemented somewhat cumbersome.  How to change Data usage cycle on the Samsung Galaxy S5:

Open on your Samsung Galaxy S5 the menu and then the settings. Select here the button "data usage". You can now tap the date or the small arrow. There is no change possible. Now the trick:
(Wi-Fi must be disabled first) Set a mark for "Mobile data connection". If you see the sign for the mobile data connection in the status bar, tap once on the Back button so that you find yourself back in the settings. Tap again on the button "data usage" and then again on the date. Here it is: a new box will appear with "cycle change".

You can now change the data usage cycle on your Samsung Galaxy S5.

We hope that you can now change the data usage cycle for the mobile data on your Samsung Galaxy S5 with these instructions.

Samsung has realised and fixed this issue. On my S5 Neo the date change is obvious. I wish I had realised it needed changing!

Wrong you can change it on an s5. Turn mobile data on, close the settings 'data usage' page and then re-open it. Click the little arrow under your dates and then 'change cycle'. Done!
