Samsung Galaxy S5 move all device contacts to your Google Account - Solved

You can transfer on the Samsung Galaxy S5 with Android Lollipop all your device contacts to your Google account very quickly and easily. This is useful, for example if you have contacts only stored on the internal memory of your smartphone, but now want to save these also in your Google account.
In order to secure your device contacts all to the Google account, please proceed as follows in Android Lollipop:

Open the menu and then the contacts app. Tap at the top right on the three-point icon and then click

"Move Devices contacts to"
You can now choose between a new window:

  • Google
  • Samsung Account

Now select "Google" to move all the device contacts to your Google account. Confirm the next message with "OK" and the transfer process starts. (Internet connection is necessary)
You have now learned how to transfer all device contacts in Android lollipop from the Samsung Galaxy S5 quickly on your Google account.

Didn't work - "No phone account contacts to merge with google account." Even though they are clearly saved to device.
