Android E-Mail attachment cannot be loaded - Solution

When you try on your Android phone to download an email attachment with the Android email app, then it may happen that you get the following message on the display when you want to open the attachment:

"Download email - Before you can download the attachment, you must download the e-mail"

You might be wondering now how to download the e-mail. This is exactly what we want to describe here in more detail:

View the e-mail and then scroll all the way down to the bottom of the e-mail. Thus, the content of the e-mail via Wi-Fi or mobile data connection will be automatically loaded. Also included the attachment of the e-mail. This can then be downloaded without any problems within the Android email app.

I tried scrolling to the bottom of the message multiple times. No good. The attachment still won't open.

It doesn't work if the mail has been deleted by mistake. I've also tried to move it back to the Inbox and I still get the message "Download email - Before you can download the attachment, you must download the e-mail" and when I do download the rest the message just appears again :-(

Worked like a charm thanks - makes the 'download email' button completely redundant

But why? If the button to download the attachment would just fownload the email at the same time it would save alot of time and frustration. I thought samsung was "user friendly". not so much
