Samsung Galaxy S6 N icon in status bar – Meaning

When you test your Samsung Galaxy S6 in the first days after the purchase thoroughly and try out new features, you may notice a new icon in the status bar: The “N icon”

N-symbol because it looks like the letter N. That's correct, because the function which the N icon in the status bar is related to also begins with a N.

It is the function "NFC". NFC stands for Near Field Communication and is a wireless connection on a very short distance. That's why NFC is used, for example the mobile payment with the Samsung Galaxy S6.

So to remove now the N icon from the status bar of the Samsung Galaxy S6, you must disable NFC. To do this, drag the status bar down with two fingers. Then tap on the Quick Launch icon of NFC. This will now hide the NFC icon in the notification bar on the Samsung Galaxy S6. Finished!

You now know what the N icon at the Samsung Galaxy S6 in the status bar means and how you can disable the NFC function quickly.

Since I did an update on my Samsung S6 I have an icon across the top which is a partial circle with a "+" symbol inside it. What does this mean?

It means that the DATA SAVER feature is turned on to reduce background apps from updating frequently.

How to meake that icon apear again? (The NFC works like normal, but I want to see the "N" because if not, I don't know when is turned on or off. It was more confortable when I just need to look at the bar and not look it on the settings or on the "quick settings")<br />Thanks!
