Samsung Galaxy S4 problems after Android Lollipop update

If you have the latest operating system Android Lollipop firmwareinstalled on the Samsung Galaxy S4, then problems of various kinds can occur. It is possible that you have a high battery consumption, non-functioning system apps, or a device that becomes very hot etc. Do you have also problems at your Samsung Galaxy S4 after updating the firmware to Android Lollipop then the following procedure is recommended.

Performs a so-called Wipe cache partition on your Samsung Galaxy S4. With this method you can delete old temporary system files on the smartphone. These temporary system files cause problems on Android lollipop. This method helps to eliminate in most cases errors in Android lollipop on the Samsung Galaxy S4.

To perform a Wipe cache partition for your Samsung Galaxy S4 proceed as follows:

Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S4 completely by hitting the Power On/ Off Button for a certain time. Wait until the device is turned off completly. Now you have to press and hold the following keys to turn the phone on again:

  • Power On / Off
  • Volume +
  • Home button

If the Samsung Galaxy S4 vibrates once, let the power on/ off button go, but keep the other two keys from the key combination pressed until a small menu, similar to DOS (recovery menu), appears on the display.

Now mark the entry "Wipe cache partition" with the volume down key. With the power on/ off button, the entry is selected and the process is started. This usually takes only a few seconds. Then the previously displayed menu appears again. Now select the first entry with "Reboot system now" and run the command again by pressing the power button. Your Samsung Galaxy S4 will now reboot.

Now everything should work the way you would expect from your smartphone. If this is not the case, we recommend you despite the effort to perform a "factory reset" on the Samsung Galaxy S4.
