OMG I'm so happy I found this I searched for this problem for my Samsung 8 and the only info I found was this one for the Samsung 5 I took the chance and I did it and I'm so happy I did!, I went to settings- apps manager- open youtube, select stop force as he recommend don't pay attention to the warning that comes out, when I selected it nothing came out so I didn't see the options of clear data or clear cache so I pressed the three tiny points on the top right corner and it open a small window with I think three choices and one of those was uninstall updates, I clicked that one and then restarted and voila the youtube app work beautiful again! and all of the videos that I have saved in youtube were still there, I'm so grateful for this info and I'm posting my experience with my Samsung 8 (not the note) with the hope that I can help somebody else.
