Android 6.0 Marshmallow Changelog - What's New?

Google released its new operating system Android 6.0 marshmallow for Nexus devices, but also smartphones from Samsung, Sony and LG are to benefit from the new software soon.

But what can Android 6.0 marshmallow ever new and better than its predecessor? We have summarized the most important changes in a short changelog:

System UI Tuner: The UI Tuner System, it is possible customize the status bar

Use SD card as an internal memory: Smartphones with micro SD card slot can rejoice. In Android 6.0 Marshmallow the memory card can be formatted as an internal memory. Therefore Apps can be installed directly onto the memory card.

Improved battery performance: With a faster change into the stand-by or Deep Sleep the battery power should be able to be saved.

Wi-Fi Calling: This setting allows to make calls over the Wi-Fi network at home.

Fingerprint scanner: The fingerprint feature of your smartphone can now be used now directly by Android 6.0 marshmallow to authorize the user.

Android Pay: The new payment service from Google via NFC will be pre-integrated in Android 6.0 marshmallow.

Tap-to-Wake: by tapping the screen the smartphone can be awaken from the standby. Probably this feature will not be available for all smartphones.

Calculator only via the Play Store: The standard calculator is no longer pre-installed in Android 6.0 pre.

Google Now: By pressing and holding the Home button Google Now can be used anywhere, even in apps.

Automatic backup: Your data if desired, can be secured directly every 24 hours on Google Drive

These were the significant changes in Android marshmallow 6.0 in the standard version. Companies like Samsung, HTC, Sony etc. upgrade this setup with their own surfaces like TouchWiz, Sense, etc.
