If you are using the Social media App Instagram for the first time and you have created a new profile, you should set your account to "private". If you do not, then everyone can follow you, whether you know it or not.
In our guide, we describe how to set your own profile to "Private" in the Instagram Android app. To do this, first open the Instagram app. Then navigate as follows:
In the overview, touch the rightmost symbol in the form of a person. You are now in the profile overview - Tap the symbol with the three points in the upper right corner - The options open. Scroll down to see your "Private Account".
Push the Button from "Off" to "On".
From now on, only people can follow you on Instagram which you have authorized before. You now know how to set your own account to "Private" in Instagram.
