Google Maps Material Design How to Save maps offline - Solved

In this article we will explain you how to save maps offline in the new Google Maps material design app on an Android smartphone. This works very simply by using one of the following two methods:

1. Save offline maps in Google Maps material design the regular way

Tap in the map area you want to save offline on your Android phone to a location and hold your finger on it until a landmark appears. A bar at the bottom of the screen will be displayed in which the name of the marked place will be shown. Wipe this bar straight up so that it is displayed on the whole screen.

You can now open with the three-point icon at the top right a mini-menu. Then the entry "Save Offline Map" can be selected in the menu.

You can now limit the area to be saved and then start the download of the map with the "Save" button. This map is now available offline in Google Maps.

2. Save with a command maps offline in Google Maps material design

If you type in the Google Maps search bar "OK Maps", then you can directly begin to download the map offline. This variant is most of the time faster.

You now know two methods to save a map offline in Google Maps Material Design on your Android smartphone. The stored maps have a validity of 30 days and they will then automatically deleted from your smartphone.
