iPhone Files Copy, Duplicate and Move Using Files App Since iOS 11

There is a new app on the iPhone and the iPad: The Files app. This app serves as a file explorer. This means you can access files such as pictures, videos, documents on the memory of the iPhone or iPad.

Here it goes without saying that you can also use functions such as copying, duplicating and moving files. How to use these functions exactly on the iPhone is explained in our step by step guide:

  1. Open the Files app on the iPhone
  2. Long press with your finger on a file - A menu bar appears with: Copy – Duplicate - Move
  3. Select a function, for example, "Copy"
  4. Now navigate to another folder and press long on a blank space - The ribbon appears again -> Now select "Paste".

The functions "Duplicate" and "Move" work similarly. You now know how to copy, move and multiply files in the Files app.

Interesting to know is that you can also copy, move and move files between the internal storage and a cloud.
