Reset Samsung Galaxy Note 5 back to factory settings - Solved

The hard reset deletes all data on the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and installs the operating system Android from scratch. All the old and unnecessary system files of the previous operating system as well as private data such as photos, SMS, contacts, etc. are completely deleted.

If you do not know how to perform a hard reset on Android with the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, then we want to give you a step-by-step instruction here.

Before you perform the Hard Reset on your Samsung Galaxy Note 5, back up all important data, such as photos, videos, SMS, memos, music, etc. because they are completely erased through the process. Most Smartphone Manufacturers supply therefore a backup software. Samsung for example offers the free program "Smart Switch".

After you have performed the backup you can start the hard reset on Android as follows:

Open from the home screen of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 the menu and then the Settings. Search for "Backup and Reset". Tap the menu item and enter into the next submenu. Here you can now see the following button at the bottom of the page: "Factory Reset"

After you tap the button, the wizard will guide you through the process to factory reset your device to default settings. Tap in the next screen "Reset Device" and follow the instructions on the display.

The smartphone will restart after the hard reset and installs all Android files. Then you have a freshly installed Android Lollipop system.
