The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 offers in the Android messaging app the possibility to block SMS messages from specific contacts or phone numbers automatically. For this purpose, a so-called blacklist or block list is used, on which you can set numbers who ware not able to send you SMS messages. In Android, the function of the blacklist is performed under the name "spam filter". We show you now how a number can be added to the spam filter of Android on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Open from the Home screen of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 the messages app and then tap in the overview at the three-point icon in the top right. Next go to Settings --> Spam filter.

In the next menu you can enable or disable at the top right controller the spam filter. Then the options of the filter can be used. As next step tap:

- Add to Spam numbers

You can now add via the plus symbol a telephone number to the blacklist or you select a contact from the Contacts app. Also in the spam filter, a general filter-rule can be enabled, which rejects all messages from unknown senders automatically. Therefore set a hook in the checkbox "Block unknown senders".

You know now how to use the spam filter of your Smsung Galaxy Note 4. From now on you will not receive any more text messages from numbers or people that you have listed in the spam filter.
