Even a bad firmware can cause crashes. Here are three tips that you can proofe to determine the cause of sudden restarts of the Samsung Galaxy S5.

1. An application is responsible for the sudden reboots.

This can be best checked with the so-called safe mode. Boot your Samsung Galaxy S5 in safe mode, so no third partie apps are loaded by Android. If your phone does not crash in this mode the problem is due to a newly installed app. To launch the Samsung Galaxy S5 in safe mode follow these instructions:

Power off the Samsung Galaxy S5 completely. Then keep the power on/off button pressed to reboot the smartphone. Once the screen is activated and displays the samsung start logo, immediately hold the volume quieter button. Keep it pressed until the sim-pin is queried. At the bottom left you should now find a field with "Safe Mode".

2. The Android operating system is the cause of sudden restarts

This can be the case if, for example, a new firmware update has been installed, but the user has not made a factory reset. We recommend in this case to perform a factory reset on the Samsung Galaxy S5 . This works as follows:

Open from the home screen of the Samsung Galaxy S5 the menu and then navigate to the settings. Here you can scroll down to the section "Backup and Reset". Tap on "Factory data reset". You now get a brief description of the factory reset. Scroll down and tap on the button “Reset device” Follow the wizard step-by-step to perform the full wipe.

Before you do the factory reset, think about backuping of your whole data. Because with a factory reset everything on your phone will be deleted.

3. A defective battery is the reason of unexpected system reboots

To proof if your Samsung galaxy S5 battery is defective,  switch off your smartphone and then take out the battery from the device. Now set the battery on a flat surface. There are two possibilities:

The battery is flat on the floor --> The battery is ok

The battery is not flat on the ground, it can be seasawed--> The battery is defective

In this case, the battery must be replaced immediately because the lithium ion battery is inflated. Here you will find a new battery fpr your smartphone
