The Google Play Store, which is installed on the Samsung Galaxy S5 as default app market, automatically updates installed apps if the mobile data connection or WiFi network is activated. These automatic app updates in the Google Play store can consume your data traffic of the mobile data connection very quickly, but also accept automatically new permissions of the apps.
Neither is necessarily desirable. This is why we recommend for the Samsung Galaxy S5 to switch the app updates from automatic to manual. We show you in our guide how to disable automatic app updates on the Samsung Galaxy S5.
For this purpose, open the Google Play Store on your Samsung Galaxy S5. Open the menu by swiping from the left screen to the middle of the screen. When it is open tap click on "Settings". Once you are in the submenu of the settings, tap on "Auto-update apps" This opens an option-window in which can now select:
• Do not auto-update apps
Have you made your selection, you have now to update the applications that have been downloaded from the Google Play Store, by yourself. The Google Play Store will now not automatically update the installed apps on your Samsung Galaxy S5 when you are connected via mobile data connection or a WiFi network.
