There is the possibility to use the camera's LED flash as a torch in your Samsung Galaxy S5. A torch widget is already integrated in Android KitKat which you can place on your homescreen. If you press the button of the widget, the light of the Photo LED is automatically activated on the back of the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Press for about two seconds the left soft-key-button of your Samsung Galaxy S5. The homescreen will shrink and several options appear. In the middle of the screen you will find the button "widgets". Typing on this and you can see a variety of different widgets that you can add to your homescreen. One of these widgets is called "torch".
If you found it, you can add this to the homescreen by pressing on it. Wait till it hovers and you can place it on the homescreen therever you want.
You now have the opportunity with this widget to use the Samsung Galaxy S5 as a torch.
