Samsung Galaxy S5 WhatsApp crashed - Solution

It can happen to your Samsung Galaxy S5 that when opening the messenger WhatsApp the following error message appears on the display:

“The application whatsapp has stopped unexpectedly”

The error message causes that WhatsApp cannot be opened and used. This is of course undesirable because one would like to write and respond to messages. So we want to show you how to fix the error with WhatsApp on the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Open from the Home screen the menu and then the settings. Scroll down to the section "Applications". Here you can see the button with "Application Manager". Tap on the button and you see now different listings. One tab is called "Installed Applications". This list shows all the apps that are installed on your smartphone. Search in the list for WhatsApp. Have you found the entry, tap on it to display the app information.
In the info you can see different buttons. Tap now in the following order on them:

  1. Stop Force
  2. Clear data
  3. Clear cache

Subsequently reboot the Samsung Galaxy S5 so that the changes take effect. Finish!

If you now open WhatsApp on your Samsung Galaxy S5, this should be used without a crash.
