Samsung Galaxy S6 Google Maps does not use GPS - solution

Should you use on your Samsung Galaxy S6 the app Google Maps for navigation and for locating yourself, then it is possible that the positioning is wrong. The reason is that Google Maps doesn´t use the built-in GPS module of your Samsung Galaxy S6 but accesses only the data of the mobile data connection.

That means, that you will always be located, where the mobile radio cell is where you are just logged in with your phone. For navigation, is this setting obviously suboptimal.

That is why we tell you now briefly how you can use the Navigation with the GPS module on the Samsung Galaxy S6. Open therefore from the home screen, the following submenu:

Menu --> Settings --> Privacy & Safety --> Location --> Location Method

If you tap on the entry, a small menu opens where you can see several options. Set here the marking necessarily at "GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile networks." With this setting, Google Maps uses all position data which is available. This also includes the detection by the integrated GPS receiver.

You know now how you can activate on the Samsung Galaxy S6 the locating in Google Maps by using GPS.
