Samsung Galaxy S6 How to change device name – Solved

Every time you connect your Samsung Galaxy S6 via Bluetooth with your speakerphone, another Smartphone or via cable to the PC, then you will see a device name. This device name is ex works "Samsung Galaxy S6 (Edge)". This device name can be individually changed by navigating to the following Android submenu:

Open on the Samsung Galaxy S6 the menu and then the settings. Now scroll all the way down to: Device Information

In this sub-menu of Android, you can now find the entry "Device Name". Tap on it and a window opens in which now the name of your Samsung Galaxy S6 can be changed. You can choose any name here. This name is then visible on the display of other Bluetooth devices then they try to connect to you.

Even when connected to the PC you can now see your chosen device name for the Samsung Galaxy S6.You have now learned how to change the device name on the Samsung Galaxy S6.

While this method might have worked when the S6 first came out, it is no longer valid, as of Dec. 2015. Now, go to Settings, About Device, Device Name. Make your changes.
