Samsung Galaxy S6 record images in RAW format – Android Lollipop 5.1.1

With the firmware update to Android Lollipop 5.1.1 the Samsung Galaxy S6 has been added the possibility to take photos in RAW format. Pictures taken in RAW format are not compressed by the software and not stored as JPEG file. Therefore, RAW image files are very well suited for post-production. If you are now looking at the Samsung Galaxy S6 for the possibility to take photos in RAW format, then you won´t find in the camera app an appropriate setting. Because this function is in fact integrated within the operating system, but has not been implemented by Samsung within the camera app.
