In Android Marshmallow, you can enable firmware updates that have been downloaded to the device to be installed automatically at a certain point in time. For example, you can specify that a new firmware update, if downloaded, is always installed at 9pm.
However, there are now situations where you do not want the firmware to be updated. If so, you should definitely disable the automatic installation of new updates. We'll explain how this works:
Navigate from your home screen on your Samsung Galaxy S7 to:
App Menu --> Settings --> Device Information ->- Scheduled Software Updates
In this submenu, you only need to change the Master-Regulator from "On" to "Off". As a result, updates are no longer automatically installed on the Samsung Galaxy S7 at a fixed time.
Conversely, if a new firmware update is available, you must manually initiate the installation.
