If you have heard of the name Stagefright in connection with your Android smartphone, then you already know that this is a malicious software through which attackers can harm you and your smartphone.

This is of course very unpleasant and which is why you absolutely should consider whether your own Android smartphone is affected by Stagefright. But how can you check your smartphone? We answer this question in this article:

To test your smartphone on the Stagefright vulnerability , you need the App "Stagefright Detector" from the Google Play Store. Here the download link.

After you have installed the app on your Android smartphone, proceedas follows:

1. Open the Stagefright Detector on your Android smartphone

2. Tap on "Begin Analysis"

3. There are now two possible results:

  • Vulnerable

If your Android smartphone is affected, please check whether a new firmware is available for your smartphone that makes the device safe again and closes the gap of Stagefright.
