Once you have upgraded your Samsung Galaxy S5 to the new operating system Android lollipop 5.0, you may have noticed that in the camera app the following setting is missing:

• Image stabilizer for photos

Unfortunately, this option was removed with the update to Android lollipop on the Samsung Galaxy S5. The background for this is unclear, but one reason could be that the image stabilizer is now fused with the "Automatic night detection". Because the image stabilizer of the Samsung Galaxy S5, which is digital, not optical, is usually used only in low light situations.

In any case, the digital image stabilizer does not come back on the Samsung Galaxy S5 with Android Lollipop. Our recommendation:

Enable “Auto Night detection” on your Samsung Galaxy S5 within the camera app.

After you have updated your Samsung Galaxy S5 to the new Android Lollipop 5.0 firmware, you can experience the following if you wish to activate the "Car mode" via the status bar:
Within the status bar the icon with the steering wheel for the car mode appears as usual, but it is blind coded and not lighted. However, it cannot be activated as usual.
If you have also this issue on your Samsung Galaxy S5, then this has nothing to do with a malfunction, but with a setting. We now want to show you which setting it is and how to use the Car mode on the Samsung Galaxy S5 with Android lollipop 5.0 as usual.

The setting, which causes this problem is the so-called priority mode, also called Interrupt mode, which can be activated via the status bar. This mode can be used, for example, to switch the Samsung Galaxy S5 completely silent.

But unfortunately the car mode works only if the interrupt mode is set to "All". If the interrupt mode is set to "priority" or "None", then the car mode cannot be used and is blind highlighted. In both the car mode button is blind coded and cannot be activated. Only at "all" the car mode can be activated.

You know now how to activate on the Samsung Galaxy S5 car mode.

Android Smartphones

To measure the performance of a smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy S5, so-called benchmarks are performed. A benchmark tests the smartphone under hard conditions and then it is checked how much peeformance the device scored on a scale. An important indicator is the ratio FPS, frames per second. The more images per second rendered through your smartphone in high resolution, the better is the performance.

Such a benchmark is offered through the Google Play Store:

• 3DMark Benachmark
• Antutu Benchmark

Now it can happen to you, however, that the results of your benchmark vary on the Samsung Galaxy S5 from time to time. If you let the benchmark run multiple times shortly one after another, every result is little bit lower than it was previously the case. Now you may wonder:

Why do I always get worse results in the benchmark for my Samsung Galaxy S5 after several runs?

We want to answer this question here. The reason has to do with heat. Because the CPU or GPU is placing enormous pressure through such a benchmark, which means that more current flows in the same time through the components. This leads to heat. Since the Samsung Galaxy S5 is passively cooled,it has no fan, the heat can be poorly deflagrate. And here's the reason why your benchmark result is always worse after several runs.

In order that the Samsung Galaxy S5 does not overheat and your CPU fades away, the built-in hardware automatically regulates the performance down. On the basis of a temperature sensor the temperature is controlled by reducing power as long downward until a stable temperature for operation prevails by the processor itself.
What does this mean for my benchmark results?

Thus, you will gain the highest possible score with your Samsung Galaxy S5 in a cool environment. So you can trick the passive automatic cooling power reduction. You know now why the results of your benchmark tests on the Samsung Galaxy S5 always be worse, the more often you run this test.

With Android Lollipop you can move app data on your Samsung Galaxy S5 to the memory card to gain space on the internal memory. This works very easily using the built-in application manager. We show you how to move Apps or their data on the Samsung Galaxy S5 with Android Lollipop to the inserted SD memory card.
For this purpose, please open the following submenu:

Menu --> Settings --> Application Manager --> tab "Installed Apps".

Now tap on an app that you have installed on your Samsung Galaxy S5. The app-info opens in which the following button can be found:

"Move to SD card"

Unfortunately, the data can be stored only on the memory card when the font of the button is dark. If this is not the case, this function is not available for this app.
Do you have an app touched, which can be moved to the SD card, then tap on the button. It appears "Move ...". This may take a while. When the process is finished, the following text is visible on the button "Move to device storage".

The app data is now saved on your SD memory card. In the info table above you can check in the section "SD card app" how many MB the outsourced data on the memory card needs. Finished!
Do this procedure for each app that you want to outsource from the internal memory of the Samsung Galaxy S5 on the memory card. Thus, you can free a lot of space on the internal memory of the Samsung Galaxy S5.
