The AI of the Huawei P20 Pro camera usually takes the best pictures for you in everyday life. However, there are situations in which a photographer wants to achieve certain effects.

For example, photographing a person in front of an arriving subway, where the person is sharp and the subway is blurry. Such a photo would not be possible with the Master AI of the Huawei P20 Pro.

Therefore you have to deactivate this Master AI of the camera for some photos. We would like to briefly describe how to do this here:

1. Open the camera app on your Huawei P20 Pro.

2. Point the viewfinder at a subject - an info like "flowers" will appear on the screen

3. Touch the X-symbol to deactivate the Master AI of the P20 Pro for this photo You have now turned off the Master AI of the Huawei P20 Pro camera for a photo.

However, you must do this for each additional photo if you want to take pictures without this intelligent shooting function. In most situations, however, it is advisable to use this function.

Leave Master AI always deactivated

Since the last firmware update it is possible to deactivate the Master AI directly in the camera settings. You can find out exactly how this works here:

Opens the camera app and then the settings. Now you see the option "Master AI". Deactivate it now by means of the controller.

You now know two ways to disable the Master AI on the Huawei P20 Pro.

The Huawei P20 Pro is equipped with a very small notification LED in the middle of the notch and can therefore show the user whether a new notification has been received. If this function is inactive or you want to deactivate the notification via LED, then our instructions will show you the corresponding submenu.

The setting can be changed as follows:

1. Start from the start screen and then open the following submenu of Android:

• Settings --> Apps and Notifications --> Notification and Status Bar

3. Deactivate the controller at "Notification Light" - done!

From now on, the small LED in the middle of the notch will no longer light up if you have received an unread notification such as an email or a WhatsApp message.

If you install apps from the Google Play Store on the Huawei P20, you will notice that they are updated automatically. This is a feature of the Google Play Store. This ensures that the installed app always has the latest version.

If you do not want this, for example, because you do not want the changes to apps, you can deactivate the auto-update function as follows:

1. Open App menu --> Google Play Store

2. Tap the three-bar icon in the upper left corner and select "Settings" from the sidebar menu.

3. Here you will find the entry "Automatic App Updates" at the top. Touch this entry and then select "No automatic app updates".

From now on, you will have to manually update all apps on your Huawei P20. An automatic update of the app is now, as desired, no longer installed automatically.

If you would like to know how fast your mobile data or the W-Lan network receives or sends data, you should display the "Network Speed" in the status bar. This function is not activated by default, but can be activated in the settings as follows.

2. Continue to "Apps and notifications". In this submenu of the Huawei P20 Pro, navigate to: Notification and status bar

3. You will now see the option "Show network speed. Activate this option as shown in the picture below:

If you are now surfing the Internet via the mobile Internet or W-Lan, you can see above the speed at which the data is received or sent.

The Huawei P20 Pro has displayed the network operator name in the top left-hand corner of the status bar. It may then occupy the entire left side next to the notch, which in turn means that fewer symbols for notifications etc. are displayed..

If you do not want the operator name to be displayed in the status bar of the Huawei P20 Pro, it can be deactivated in the settings. Our following article will explain how this works:

2. Continue with "Apps & Notifications" and "Notifications & Status Bar"

3. Disable the slider at "Show network operator name".

As a result, it will no longer appear in your phone's status bar and you will have more space for other icons.

Many mobile phone providers offer their customers the option "Wi-Fi Calling" within the mobile phone rate. With this function you can use the W-Lan network at home to make calls.

This is very useful because WiFi calling allows you to make calls to places where the mobile network can no longer reach. Especially in the basement or in the south this option is very practical to remain accessible.

However, WiFi calling must first be activated on the Huawei P20 Pro. We would like to describe to you below exactly how this works and where the corresponding setting is located:

1. Open the Android settings

2. Navigate to "Wireless & Networks"

3. Go to "Call Settings"

4. Select "WiFi Calling" and activate the option with the knob - done!

You can now use the WiFi calling feature of your Huawei P20 Pro smartphone.

The Huawei P20 Pro is one of the best camera smartphones on the market today. That's why it's all the more frightening when you see pink pixels on a photo. You will now ask yourself if the camera is defective or if there is another reason for this.

Here we would like to share our experiences with you. How you deal with it then remains up to you:

Starting position was a photo, which we had on a beautiful day. It was taken in the mountains near a river. The light was very bright.

Following the photo with zoom:

Here you can see the pink pixels. Also otherwise the photo is not exactly outstanding for the good lighting conditions. The file size is amazing:

Almost 12 MB. This also made it easier to find the cause. This is because it is a setting in the camera app of the Huawei P20 Pro.

If you switch on the "Vivid Colors" mode in the camera app, this results in very bright light conditions to photos like the one shown above. This was also reproducible. Our tip about it: Never activates the "Bright Colors" mode.

Otherwise you will be very disappointed when you watch the photos on a TV or in the zoom.

If you notice on your Huawei P20 Pro that you are not receiving any new notifications about e-mails, WhatsApp messages etc., this is probably because you are not receiving them automatically.

So far so good, quickly checked the synchronization under Settings --> Accounts and then found that the following option is unchecked: "Synchronize data automatically".

Now comes a serious problem: The option cannot be activated because it is grayed out. What does that mean?

Why can't I enable account synchronization? The cause is this:

If you have activated the power save mode on the Huawei P20 Pro, then the synchronization of the accounts is automatically deactivated by default. This means that they no longer automatically retrieve new emails or WhatsApp messages.

Disable the power save mode to automatically synchronize the accounts in the background again. After your Power Saving Mode is inactive, the Huawei P20 Pro should update emails or WhatsApp in the background as usual.

You shouldn't miss any more messages with this.

If you have a smartphone or tablet with an Android operating system, it is particularly easy to transfer the data stored on it to the new Huawei P20 smartphone. However, this does not work with the wizard that will be displayed when you set up your new smartphone.

No, the transfer of data such as photos, videos, documents, etc. is not possible. Need of a special app. This app was specially developed by Huawei and is called "Phone Clone".

In the following instructions we will explain step by step how to transfer the data from an Android smartphone or tablet to the Huawei P20 using Phone Clone:

On the Huawei P20 Pro there is an option that automatically changes the background lock screen when the device switches to standby mode. This means you'll see a new wallpaper or cover on the lock screen every time you turn on the phone screen.

If you do not want to use this feature, you can deactivate this option in the Android settings as follows:
