Many new smart watches already have the new Android Wear 2.0 on board or were recently updated. Android Wear 2.0 is the operating system that runs on the clock and provides the user interface. As usual with Android, you can also unlock the so-called developer options under Android Wear 2.0.
This is a hidden menu in the settings, which, as the name suggests, is actually only available to developers. However, this menu can be activated relatively easily under Android Wear 2.0.
We have described how to do this step by step in this manual: Activate developer mode in Android Wear 2.0
- Change to the settings on your Smartwatch by wiping from top to bottom and then selecting the gear symbol
- Scroll down in the menu until you see the entry "System" - Select the menu item from
- Tap the entry "Build number" at least seven times. As a result, the developer options are unlocked on the smartphone.
You see an insertion with "You are now a developer". Wipe twice to the right to switch to the developer options menu The developer options can now be exited by restarting the Smartwatch once.
You now know how to unlock and activate the developer options on a Smartwatch with Android Wear 2.0.
