Samsung Galaxy S6 How to delete saved search terms in the browser

If you use the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Google Chrome Browser to browse the Internet, you'll find search suggestions in the address bar that you've been looking for in the past. If you don't want to do this, the following article will help you to delete the search terms and to deactivate the auto-complete function:

Delete search suggestions in the Chrome Browser on the Samsung Galaxy S6

Samsung Galaxy S6

To do this, please open the Google Chrome Browser on your smartphone from the start screen. Once this is open, you can continue by tapping on the three-point symbol in the upper right corner and selecting "Settings".

From here, please select "Privacy" and then "Delete browser data". The search suggestions are based on the websites you have already visited. So delete your browser data like:

  • browser history
  • Cookies and website data

Your current search suggestions are thus deleted. To deactivate the further creation and display of search proposals, proceed as follows:

Deactivate search suggestions in general

To do this, please open the Chrome Browser again:

Now deactivate the option "Suggestions for search terms and websites".

From now on, your Samsung Galaxy S6 will no longer display any search suggestions in the address bar.  This means that you have deleted the created search proposals on the smartphone in the Chrome Browser and deactivated them for the future.
