Samsung Galaxy S9 Blood Pressure Monitor - How it works

With the Samsung Galaxy S9 you can measure your pulse as well as your blood pressure. This is made possible by the built-in sensor in combination with a suitable app. However, this app is not included by default.

Here we explain how you can measure blood pressure with your Samsung Galaxy S9. This works as follows:

Samsung Galaxy S9 Hardware

1. To measure blood pressure with the Samsung Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus, you first need the app that allows you to measure your blood pressure.

2. If you have installed the app on your Samsung Galaxy S9, please open it

3. You can now start to measure your blood pressure, but it will only be displayed as a percentage, which may not help you much.

Therefore now comes the correct calibration of the App:

Calibrate Blood Pressure App – How it works

You need a blood pressure monitor in the household like for example such devices on Amazon. If you have such a blood pressure monitor, you can get started.

Opens the My BP Lab app on the Samsung Galaxy S9. Now select "Recalibrate with using a cuff". Then select "Other Cuff". Use your other blood pressure monitor to measure your blood pressure and enter the values into the app.

If this calibration measurement was successful, the values "systolic" and "diastolic" will be displayed in the app from now on. You now know how to measure your blood pressure with the Samsung Galaxy S9.

According to initial experience reports, these values are even supposed to be very accurate. This function is therefore worth testing. Have fun with your Samsung Galaxy S9.
