Samsung Galaxy S9 Extend Display Timeout - Solution

If you leave your Samsung Galaxy S9 lying around, your display will remain lit for a while. If you no longer touch the screen, it is automatically switched off and sent to standby. This saves battery power because the display is one of the smartphone's largest power consumers.

However, if you would like to extend the time until the display is automatically switched off, we will show below where to find the corresponding setting in Android.

Extend display timeout on the Samsung Galaxy S9

Samsung Galaxy S9 Hardware

1. Open the app menu from the start screen and continue with the settings

2. Navigate to "Display"

3. In this submenu you will now find "Screen timeout"

Here you have the possibility to choose between 15 seconds and 10 minutes. The default setting here is 2 minutes.

The longer you choose the time, the more battery power you need. For this reason, we recommend that you do not enter a value greater than 5 minutes. If you have set the mark at a new value, it will be used directly for the Samsung Galaxy S9.

You now know how to keep the screen light on longer and what effect this can have on the battery life of the Samsung Galaxy S9.
