Battery charging problems are among the most common problems you can have with an Android phone like the Huawei P20 Pro.
The cause of the charging problems can be different.
For example, the cause may be the smartphone itself or the connected charger. For this reason, we have created the following list to list the possible causes and show how to fix them:
Battery is not charging - Smartphone has an error
Below we have listed all the possibilities that can be found on the huawei P20 pro itself.
Tip 1. Charging socket/ contacts covered by dust
First check the charging socket of the Huawei P20 Pro. Dirt and dust are often responsible for the fact that the contacts of the charging socket are not connected to those of the charging cable.
If this is the case, they should be cleaned. Here's how it works:
- Clean charging socket
Tip 2. Display black - but smartphone on
Sometimes an error in the smartphone itself can prevent it from loading. The display is then usually black, but the smartphone is on.
Press the power button for approx. 15 seconds until the unit restarts. Then reconnect it with the charging cable.
Tip 3. Battery is deeply discharged
If the battery is deeply discharged, e.g. because the smartphone has been lying in the drawer for a long time, then you have to proceed as follows:
Leave the Huawei P20 Pro on the charger for at least 1 hour. This usually results in the battery feeling stimulated again by the charging current and being able to be charged again. If not, only a spare battery will help!
Tip 4. Charging cable defective
Use another USB cable to check if the Huawei P20 Pro can be charged. Sometimes it is possible that the USB cable used has a technical defect and the Huawei P20 Pro therefore cannot be charged correctly.
Tip 5. Charger power supply defective
The power supply of the Huawei P20 Pro may also be defective. Hangs the charger from another USB port or a charger with sufficient current.
If none of the tips helped, check again if the Wipe Cache partition improves your Huawei P20 Pro.
If not, then the smartphone must be brought into repair or the battery must be replaced.
We hope that one of the tips has helped to repair the Huawei P20 Pro or make recharging possible.
