If you always carry the Huawei P20 Pro in your pocket or a handbag with you, it is very likely that the USB Type C charger socket of your smartphone is dirty and the plug of the charger cable cannot make contact.
Often it is simply dust that accumulates in the charging socket over time.
So please check if this applies to your Huawei P20 Pro. If yes, carefully remove the dust using one of the following methods:
Toothpick
Use a toothpick to clean the USB Type C port. We do not recommend using a metallic object such as an office needle, as this can damage the charging socket or connection.
Compressed air or vacuum cleaner
Blowing or compressed air can also help. Alternatively, use a vacuum cleaner and try to remove the dust with it.
Water bath
The Huawei P20 Pro is IP67 protected against water ingress. Place the smartphone in a low water basin and leave it there for about 30 seconds.
Note: If the device is older than 2 years, we advise against this method! This is because the seals may already be porous from this point on.
Dry the appliance and then use the vacuum cleaner again.
You now know three methods for cleaning the charging socket of the Huawei P20 Pro.
