Anyone who uses the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 to make phone calls, write messages, take pictures, etc. will perhaps be surprised from now on that the screen of the smartphone remains only black.
The notification LED may still light up at regular intervals and the device may become hot, which suggests that the device is on, but that doesn't help much, because inputs can no longer be made via a black display.
What can you do now to be able to work with the smartphone again? The following instructions with tips should help you if the display of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is only black:
Tip 1. Key combination against the black screen
With this combination you can correct the error of a dark display:
You have to press and hold the following keys for about 12-15 seconds:
- Power On/ Off
- Volume Quieter
- Bixby Button
After holding these three buttons for about 12 seconds, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 should restart. If this does not lead to the desired result, please continue as follows:
Tip 2. Soft Reset
The Soft Reset is also worth a try. You have to hold down the power button for about 12 seconds and see if the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 comes to life. If that doesn't work either, our third tip continues.
Tip 3 Connect Samsung Galaxy Note 9 to the charger via USB
This method can also often bring the display of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 back to life. Simply connect your S9 to a charger via the USB cable.
This can "revive" your device with the supplied power.
Tip 4: Screen brightness set too low?
It is also possible that the display brightness was manually set too low and you can no longer read it correctly in the sun. Just darken the screen with your hands and see if it still shows something.
Often only the display brightness is set too low. If this is the case, pull down the notification bar and set the brightness control to maximum or automatic brightness.
Then you should be able to see enough again and operate your device.
