Battery charging problems are among the most common problems you can have with an Android phone like the Samsung Galaxy S8.

Tip 1. Charging socket/ contacts disturbed by dust
First check the charging socket of the Samsung Galaxy S8. Usually dirt and dust are responsible for the fact that the contacts of the charging socket are not connected with those of the charging cable.

Tip 2. Display dark but active

Press the Power button for at least 15 seconds until the phone restarts. Then reconnect it with the charging cable.
Tip 3. Battery is deeply discharged
If the battery is deeply discharged, e.g. because the smartphone has been lying in the drawer for a long time, then you have to proceed as follows:

Tip 5. Charging cable defective
The best way to check whether the Samsung Galaxy S8 battery can be charged is with another USB C cable. Sometimes the USB cable may be defective and the Samsung Galaxy S8 cannot be charged correctly.
An alternative cable can often help here!
Tip 6. Charger power supply defective
Also the power supply of the Samsung Galaxy S8 can show a defect. Hangs the charger from another USB port such as the PC or a charger with sufficient power.
