Samsung Galaxy S8 battery is no longer charging - Help

Battery charging problems are among the most common problems you can have with an Android phone like the Samsung Galaxy S8.

The cause of the charging problems can be of different origin.

For example, the cause may be the mobile phone itself or the connected charger or charging cable. For this reason, we have created a list to list the possible causes and how to fix them:

Battery is not charging - cause is the smartphone

Tip 1. Charging socket/ contacts disturbed by dust

First check the charging socket of the Samsung Galaxy S8. Usually dirt and dust are responsible for the fact that the contacts of the charging socket are not connected with those of the charging cable.

If this is the case, these contacts should be cleaned. We have written the corresponding instructions here:

  • Clean charging socket

Tip 2. Display dark but active

Sometimes even a bug in the Android system itself can prevent it from charging. The display is then usually black, but the mobile phone is on.

Press the Power button for at least 15 seconds until the phone restarts. Then reconnect it with the charging cable.

Tip 3. Battery is deeply discharged

If the battery is deeply discharged, e.g. because the smartphone has been lying in the drawer for a long time, then you have to proceed as follows:

Leave the Samsung Galaxy S8 on the charger for at least 1 hour. This usually results in the battery recovering from the charging current and being able to be charged again. If not, only a spare battery can help!

Tip 4: Moisture detected

If moisture is detected, the S8 cannot be charged. Here we have written a special manual for you. You below:
