If you are upgrading in Windows, after downloading the installation file, you want to know exactly where the file is located. This is important to know, for example, if you want to back up this file.
However, the Windows Upgrade folder is not so easy to find on Windows 10. For this reason we have written the following article:

You can find the directory path of the Windows 10 Upgrade folder here:
C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\install.esd
This folder now contains the encrypted ESD files that contain the Windows 10 upgrade, for example.
Now you know the location of the Windows upgrade files. You can now also convert these ESD files into an ISO file or download the ISO images from the official Microsoft website.
Important information at the end: After each update, the ESD file remains hidden in the Windows system at the path specified above.
