The Sony Xperia 1 supports calls made via W-Lan. This means that if there is no mobile network available in the house, for example in the basement or Sudterrain, it is still possible to make calls in these rooms via Wifi Calling.
To do so, this option must be activated in the Android settings of the smartphone. Furthermore, the option must be activated by the mobile phone provider.
In the following we describe how to activate calls on the Sony Xperia 1 W-Lan.
Activate Wifi Calling - explained step by step
1. open the settings on your smartphone
2. Select the menu item "Network & Internet".
3. go to "Mobile Network" and then to "Advanced
4. in the section "Call functions" you can now activate the "W-Lan telephony".
Note: This menu item is only displayed if your mobile phone provider supports W-Lan telephony. If you do not see the entry, please contact your provider.
