The slide show function in Windows 10 is a great feature to present vacation photos or other interesting pictures. The problem with the slideshow function is that the pictures change very slowly.
If you want to speed up the switching of the slide show function, you can proceed as follows:
Speed up slide show to lock screen
To speed up the display of the slide show with the screen locked in Windows 10, please proceed as follows:
Open the Registry Editor by pressing the Win+R keys on your keyboard at the same time. The "Run" dialog is displayed. Type "regedit" without quotation marks and press the Enter key.
Navigate to the following key:
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Lock Screen
Create a new 32-bit DWORD value here:
- SlideshowDuration
The value data of this parameter is the duration, expressed in milliseconds. Note that you should enter the value of "SlideshowDuration" in decimal base.
Note: Even if you are working with a 64-bit Windows version, you still need to create a 32-bit DWORD value.
Set the Slide Show Duration parameter to, for example, 6000, i.e. 6 seconds.
Now you have adjusted the slide show lock screen in Windows 10.
Accelerate slide show in Windows Explorer
To start the slide show in Windows Explorer, click the Manage tab on the toolbar at the top, then click the Slide Show button.
Once the slide show is running, right-click anywhere on the screen. The resulting menu offers the options:
- Slow -> 11 seconds per image
- Medium -> 5 seconds per image
- Fast -> 3 seconds per image
You now know the options to speed up the slide show in Windows 10 for the lock screen and Windows Explorer.
