RCS stands for "Rich Communication Service" and was developed as a replacement for the classic SMS and as a competing product against WhatsApp and Threema. However, RCS has not really succeeded so far, so that only few users make use of it.
On the Samsung Galaxy S20, the RCS service is active ex works, but can be deactivated by the user. Here we would like to explain how to disable the RCS service in Android.
Turn off Rich Communications Service on the Samsung Galaxy S20
1. Open the settings of Android.
2. Navigate to "Connections".
3. Now select "More connection settings".
4. Deactivate the slider for "Rich Communications".
You have now successfully switched off the Rich Communication Service on your Samsung Galaxy S20.
