Many users who own an older smartphone and now want to switch to the Huawei P40 Pro want to know whether the device has a notification LED or an Always On Display, or AoD for short.
Both hardware variants are there to inform you about new incoming notifications.
With an LED variant you will be informed about light colors of a small LED light, with the Always On Display you will be informed about an icon or similar on the screen.

Huawei P40 Pro AoD or LED?
The Huawei P40 Pro has no LED notification integrated. The reason is that the front side consists mainly of display and therefore no cutout for an LED was integrated.
However, as a replacement for the LED, the Huawei P40 Pro offers an Always On Display, which informs you about new notifications and can also display other useful information such as time or calendar entries.
