Samsung Galaxy S20, S20 Ultra Sort and display contacts by last name

The Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra are ideal for use as business phones in everyday life. The Contacts app is essential for this, as it stores all phone numbers, e-mail addresses and so on.

The Contacts App shows you the names in the following format:

  • First name, last name

Especially if you use the Samsung Galaxy S20 as a business phone, it is often more useful if the contact is specified in this format:

  • Last name, first name

Luckily, you can set this setting very quickly within the Android settings. And it works like this:

Contact Sort last name first and then - Samsung Galaxy S20

Open the Contacts app.

2. select the three-bar icon in the upper left corner

3. the sidebar is displayed. At the top of the sidebar you will see a gear symbol. Select it.

4. you are now in the settings. Here you can now see "Name format". Select this and then select:

  • Last name, first name

This means that the contacts are now displayed with the last name first.

To have contacts displayed sorted, select "Sort by" in the same menu. Then select "Last name".

With these two settings, a contact is now displayed on the Samsung Galaxy S20 in the format Last Name, First Name and sorted alphabetically by last name. This makes it very easy for you to use the smartphone as a business phone in everyday life.
