Most smartphones from Samsung no longer have a home button or soft key buttons integrated into the front, so this functionality is now displayed via a so-called navigation bar at the bottom of the display.
The navigation bar shows the buttons for Home, Back and recently opened apps. This makes it possible to navigate in menus and to use apps.
You can show or hide the navigation bar depending on the functionality you want to use for navigation. Below we have summarized where you have to navigate within the Android settings.
Hiding the navigation bar - Activating gesture control
1. Open the Android settings on your Samsung smartphone
2. Go to "Display".
3. Scroll down a bit to "Navigation bar" and select the entry.
4. Now activate the following option "Gestures at full screen".
The navigation bar is now hidden and you can navigate using gestures. Via "Options" you can still select which gestures you want to use.
Showing the navigation bar - deactivate gesture control
To show the navigation bar on your Samsung phone again, navigate to again:
- Settings --> Display --> Navigation bar
Activate navigation buttons again here. This will bring up the navigation bar on your Samsung smartphone again.
Now you know how to show or hide the navigation bar under Android on a Samsung smartphone.
