Show full URLs in Google Chrome - Tip

The Google Chrome browser no longer displays web addresses completely. For example the https protocol like www. is no longer displayed.

You can now display this information by double clicking the address bar.

Alternatively, you can always display the complete URL directly. And this works as follows:

Always show full URL - Google Chrome tutorial

1. open the Google Chrome Browser

2. enter the following line in the address line (Copy&Paste)

  • chrome://flags

3. confirm with "Enter" and then search in the search box

  • omnibox-context-menu-show-full-urls

4. sets the value from "Default" to "Enabled

Then restart the browser once to make the changes effective. From now on the URL is always displayed completely in the address bar, i.e. with HTTPS protocol and www.
