Show or hide the Samsung Galaxy S10 navigation bar - Instructions

The Samsung Galaxy S10 is one of the new smartphones equipped with a display that takes up most of the front. This means there is no more room for a physical home button.

Instead, there is a navigation bar that appears at the bottom of the screen. The navigation bar displays the Home, Back and recently opened apps buttons. So it is possible to navigate in menus and use apps.

You can show or hide the navigation bar depending on the functionality you want to use for navigation. In this guide we have summarized step by step where to navigate within the Android settings to show or hide the navigation bar.

Hiding the navigation bar on the Samsung Galaxy S10

1. Open the Android settings on the Samsung Galaxy S10

2. Now navigate to "Display".

3. Scroll down a bit to "Navigation Bar" and select the entry.

4. Now activate the following option: "Gestures at full screen".

The navigation bar is now hidden and you can navigate using gestures. Via "Options" you can still select which gestures you want to use.

Display the navigation bar on the Samsung Galaxy S10

To display the navigation bar on the Samsung Galaxy S10 again, navigate to the following submenu again.

  • Settings --> Display --> Navigation bar

Activate navigation buttons again here. This will bring up the navigation bar again on your Samsung Galaxy S10. You can then decide how you want the arrangement in the navigation bar to be.

Now you know how to show or hide the navigation bar under Android on a Samsung Galaxy S10, S10 Plus or S10 5G.
