Use mobile hotspot - Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+ or S20

The Mobile Hotspot is one of the useful features of the Samsung Galaxy S20. It allows you to share your smartphone's Internet connection with other devices such as tablets, smart watches or smartphones after a simple configuration.

This guide shows you how to use a Mobile Hotspot on the Samsung Galaxy S20.

Setting up Tethering and Mobile Hotspot

2. Select "Connections".

3. Tap Mobile Hotspot and Tethering, then tap Mobile Hotspot.

4. Turn on Mobile Hotspot

5. Tap the "More Settings" icon in the upper right corner (three dots).

6. Tap on "Mobile Hotspot Configuration".

7. Fill in the required fields such as network name, security, password, etc. and then press "Save".

Smartphones, laptops, Smartwatches etc. can now easily connect to the mobile hotspot of your Samsung Galaxy S20.

Use tethering and mobile hotspot via status bar

From a home screen, swipe from top to bottom to access the quick launch buttons on the status bar.

Look for the Mobile Hotspot icon here. Quickly activate it by tapping it once, or deactivate it to quickly turn it off again.

Mobile hotspot can quickly consume a lot of data volume of the Samsung Galaxy S20

The Mobile Hotspot uses the data of your mobile phone provider and is therefore not free (unless you have an unlimited data subscription). When the Mobile Hotspot is activated, you should be aware of the data usage to avoid paying more than your usual data usage.

In particular, there is a risk that other devices may view the hotspot as a standard Wi-Fi hotspot and automatically download major updates, for example.

So now you know the procedure to use the Samsung Galaxy S20 as a mobile W-Lan Hotspot.
