On your Android smartphone you may see an exclamation mark next to the W-Lan icon in the status bar. You probably don't know the meaning of this symbol yet and therefore we would like to explain what it stands for.
The W-Lan symbol with exclamation mark indicates that the Android smartphone is connected to a W-Lan router but cannot access an Internet connection.
This means that it is not possible to surf the Internet or send e-mails, WahtsApp messages etc.
The reason for the missing internet connection can be various.
- Fault of the router
- Interruption of the Internet service provider
- Interference from W-Lan networks in the vicinity
So if you can see the exclamation mark next to the W-Lan icon in the status bar, we recommend that you check the above causes. Often it helps to check the W-Lan internet connection with another internet capable device.
