Have you ever deleted a file, image or video by mistake? Then it was so far that it was mostly irretrievably lost. But with the new recycle bin function, such data loss is a thing of the past.
However, the recycle bin must first be activated. How to activate the recycle bin on your Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+ or S20 Ultra, so that deleted files are always cached in it, we would like to explain to you in more detail here:
Enable the recycle bin function for gallery
The recycle bin for photos and videos is activated via the Samsung Gallery app. It works like this:
1. Start from the Home screen and open the Gallery app
2. Navigate to the three-point icon in the album overview.
3. Select "Settings" from the context menu
4. Disable or enable the checkbox at:
- Disable Trash
Note: If you activate this function, i.e. turn off the trash, all photos in the current trash will be deleted automatically.
Trash function for "My Documents" Switch on file explorer
Similar to the Galerie app, the recycle bin must also be activated for the file explorer. It works like this:
1. Open the My Documents app on your smartphone
2. Click on the three-point symbol in the upper right corner.
3. Select "Settings" there.
In the "File Management" section, activate the menu item "Recycle Bin".
With the two recycle bin functions, files are now held in the recycle bin for up to 15 days until they are deleted. This way, files on the Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+ or S20 Ultra can be easily restored within this period of time.
